In a Dream

In a Dream

A Poem by wgwright
"

a poem

So I woke up last night inside of a dream,
My feet set apart, straddling a stream.

In the stream just ahead was a shining rainbow.
Where it hit the water was a multiplied glow.

This being a dream, I was then turned around.
And now to my back was the rainbow splash sound.

Down the stream I could see all of my past:
When I walked, then I ran and once wore a cast.

I saw the longing and mystery of my first kiss.
In my dream I was thinking "I won't forget this!"

Now my past was before me, my future behind.
If I turned 'round again, what would I find?

I love the question at the end! It made me stop to think.
