Flow

Flow

A Poem by Joy C

Words flowing out of
A pencil
Letting it taking me
Wherever it prefer

Not caring about all the
Rhymes, syllables, poetic devices

Too many rules

A relapse back to
Childhood
Being carefree

Rules are everywhere
Piling up with
Every step we took
Towards
A law- bidding citizen
An independent adult
A grown- up

Heart seeking escape
Disregard

Just a jumble of words
To express
My thoughts
At the moment

Sometimes it feels great to just let go and break some rules, as long as one doesn't hurt anyone, anything or the self.

This is not the poem to be editing with syntax and spelling corrections in the review! I so understand what you are saying, just to let it flow, without thought to anything but the feelings and the words those feelings produce. A short poem that says so much! Good write! Barbara
