The Curses of Crushes

The Curses of Crushes

A Poem by Joy C

The Curse of Crushes
Concealing in a desert corner
Eyes clasp on him
Intently

Wishing desperately to clarify his mind
To close the distance between
To curve my name on the center of
His heart

A glow circle him
Faded a bit when his laughter ceases

Watching him chatting with his clique
No chance of getting in
I’m chained to my spot

Collecting every information about him
Cling to them to create the fantasy version of him,
Piece by piece
Clenching it closely to my soul

My only consolation

From time to time
My hope climbs to its climax
Only meets with
The Crush
When it falls over the cliff

I’m caged in
No escape

Losing composure
Uncertainty full me
An ongoing cycle
