Pet's Death

Pet's Death

A Poem by Joy C

Hovering, lurking
Scoops down.
In its wake,
Leaves an unrecognizable corpse
Farewell to the special friend
Pain occupies my chest
Heart is broken by,
A hand gripping it tightly.

I know what my mother used to do when we were crying over a pet...she couldn't stand to see us in pain. My dad would usually come home with a kitten or something and surprise us.
Your grief is well displayed here and it is so sad to relate to your sorrow.
I'm sure your little pet was happy to have such a beautiful life with you, his personal poet!

We lost one of our cats last year, and my other is sick with an illness that has no cure, this poem captures a great sense of loss, and one i know all of us at some point has felt.
