the title says it all, I work at Victorias Secret, and if everything isn't perfect, if ONE person leaves without buying something, if anybody over 18 does not have our credit card, well then it's the end of the f*****g world now isn't it? I'm usually not
the title says it all, I work at Victorias Secret, and if everything isn't perfect, if ONE person leaves without buying something, if anybody over 18 does not have our credit card, well then it's the end of the fucking world now isn't it? I'm usually not this pissy by the way, I just can't wait to graduate college so I don't have to take these shitty ass jobs anymore. Phew Done with my rant.

Well, if it weren't for the s****y jobs, you'd never really appreciate the good opportunities...or so conventional wisdom tells us anyway. I feel your pain Annie. Just keep plugging away though and don't forget what's important. Oh, and if they offer you a management position at the store, run screaming in the other direction. ;-P
Lmao . . . I've worked retail for over 20 years. In fact, I just told Marshalls today (I've put in over 13 grueling years there) to shove the job where the sun doesn't shine. I feel great!
First, your title got my attention!! hahaha ... and then the piece itself was even better! Been here, felt this when I worked as a food server for years.... and I get it. But I think this goes beyond retail/customer service and into dealing with people in general. As with everything, we are forced to take the bad with the good. There are a lot of self centered, narcissistic barfy people in the world, but in the same token there are a lot of beautiful, caring and considerate people. I've found that if I focus on the latter, the barfy b******s aren't as annoying. lol
Great piece! I love it... and on occasion .... feel it!! :)
Love your honesty here, Anne! I know what you mean, after all, "The customer is ALWAYS right." I have worked retail too, I know just what you mean. It is all a part of retail. It's like you have to deal with the system and go a long with the whole customer satisfaction jargon, or else...or else find a new job. It stinks but it is a part of it. I am with Nuala...I don't shop there either...42 double D's are outa the park....and outa Tori's place. :-) Love the honesty. Would you just accept my friend request now? I am anxious for you to graduate college too! What are you majoring in?
You have a rough clientele there with the princesses and the divas all going on tour and needing their essentials for their celebrity events. Management is greedy and has to pay the advertising bills and those models don't come cheap!
So who does everyone take out their insecurities on? YOU! Keep practicing with this dress rehersal because after school you have other people's a@@es to kiss! I think writing is such a good way to get things out. You may want to switch to a guy-geared store that may be less demanding!
Stress is a killer and we all don't need anymore of it. Learning to deal with it properly early on can save health problems later. Writing is great, especially yours here. Thank you for letting us in on what it is like there so we can be hoping for something better for you. I don't shop there because they don't carry my bra size. LOL.
Tell them to go braless. My mother and her friends fought for that right years ago. :) Your agression here is understandable though. People don't think that those that work in places like that are people too and have their good and bad days and their own perspective of things. They expect them to be autonomous and professional. It isn't always easy. Hang in there and look for something else.
I'm sure someday you'll graduate college...in the meantime, it's good that you're channeling your anger for creative achievement instead of going on three-week long drug and orgy binges...like I did.
