Not too Skinny

Not too Skinny

A Poem by Anne Hill

Skinny little thing

I watch as she holds her own

I wish to look down and see ribs like hers

I wish to wrap my hands around my thighs

I wish I was drowning in size x-small

I look at her stomach so tight and flat

I stare at her cheek bones jutting through her skin

I want to be like her

So perfect, so lovely

Seems like every woman wants to be skinny, me I say it's what's inside that really counts. Nice write.

Short and right to the point..In life we have so many "i wish" that to not just enjoy what we are seems a crime..But..I was never the skinny and can't seem to get there..chocolat is a devil for me to give up..Liked you write..God bless..Valentine

Very well written. I flinch every time I pass the magazine section in Wallgreen's. All the women on the covers look anorexic to me. It's hardly appealing or sensuous, but I know that most women like it. I love your last line.
