Under The Willow Tree (2007)

Under The Willow Tree (2007)

A Poem by Wesley Dingler

   I.

Under the shade of the willow tree,

I held you and you held me;

We loved and we loathed simultaneously--

Under the shade of the willow tree.

   II.

Under the blooming willow tree,

Our hearts knew nothing of the melancholy;

Only the pleasurable--sounding sea--

Under the blooming willow tree.

   III.

Under the withering branches of the willow tree,

Our love did wither equally;

Until all that was us--was just a memory--

Under the withering branches of a willow tree.

Willow trees are beautiful and create romantic images. Sadly in your poem, not to last. Very nice lines Wesley, nicely conveyed.

A beautiful poem Wesley. The willow tree and love remembered. Create a perfect photo for my mind. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

I enjoyed this one and I shall read some of them now. You are welcome my friend.
It might be interesting to set this one to music. The wording reminds me of a folk song.
