A Fathers Face

A Fathers Face

A Poem by Wendi Lee
"

I wrote this seven days after my Daddy was killed in a motor cycle wreck. He was not only my daddy, but I was also honored to have him as a best friend! No matter the time or what was going on, he always found the time to listen to me and guide me when I

"

as i sit all alone in my home

i see a stranger appear from no where

he slowly walks towards me

with one hand out

as i sit in shock

not knowing what to do

i hear a soft voice

asking me to come near

as i walk towards his soft voice

he tells me "it's ok, not to be afraid"

the candle light shimmers in his face

it was then he gave me a warm embrace

this was a feeling i once knew

but could not place

it was then a tear ran down my face

he placed his warm hand upon my cheek

to wipe the tears away

then in his soft voice he said

"i love you, and i am always here for you"

with that he walked away

it was then i saw my

fathers face

Positively heartbreaking. Thank you for having the courage to write this and share this with us. I couldn't write about my dad for years. Words from others can mean so little in difficult times, but words are all we have to get through sometimes. I hope your own words were able to help you express yourself in a difficult time.
