(92) Writing Within The Void

(92) Writing Within The Void

A Poem by Chris Smith Welshpoetcs

The clock has stopped ticking

The hands have at last, stopped flickering

Time has suddenly ceased to be

The stars are gone, space is empty

The flowers have at last, stopped growing

Knowledge has decided to stop knowing

Man kind has faded out the window

Finally played in the final show

God has giving up being the game show host

He has gone away with the Holy Ghost

Nothing is left, everything has been destroyed

Only me here, still writing within the void

The meaning is utterly beautiful in this, and although I can see the meaning you were getting at, I couldn't help but be reminded of my own dark moods when I am writing. For all I know, th world could have ended completely outside, but I would nevr stop typing furiously. I'm not sure if you meant it to have that effect, but it really did remind my of that. Well done, this is another masterpiece :)

you can actually visualize a void here..the vast expanse where there is no vegetation, no civilization, no intellect and yet there is this piece of verse. nice work !

I wrote a similar poem once. I believe the Devil and God had left us. We do enough damage without their help. A outstanding poem. I like it all.

A great way to express the instensity of the writing moment. I particularly like the line: "Knowledge has decided to stop knowing". An inspired choice of words and ideas. Excellent!
