Bite

Bite

A Story by Chris Smith Welshpoetcs

1: The Human

I had been sitting alone by a table in the corner, at some obscure forgotten bar this cold and damp night.

I was just another of the lonely that dwelled various bars like this, no one to love us and not wanting to sit in a room at home on our own.

She walked into the bar, seeming to glide across the floor.

Dressed all in black with a gothic style dress, low cut at the front, split down the left side up to her thigh.

She had green eyes, long flowing back hair down to the base of her spine.

I guessed she was a size ten, she was about six foot fall, a beauty too tall to notice someone like me, after all I was only 5 foot 8 and she would be out of my league.

But she looked over, as if she was reading my thoughts and walked over to me, hypnotising me as I watched her legs.

I was seduced by the way she moved.

She never spoke, just smiled and hooked her finger as if to follow her, long black varnished nails at the end of her fingers.

I was entranced and followed her out of the bar and into the night.
This strange and Gothic beauty had a hold on me.

She walked down into an alley...down into the dark and I continued to follow her.

She stopped and put her arms around my neck and kissed my lips, I felt her tongue probe at my mouth and then our tongues meet and danced together.

My hand moved up the split of her dress, touching her cold skin, stroking her thigh.

She did not stop me, and I felt the want for her stirring in me.

She kissed my neck, and her fangs penetrated the skin.
Like needles piercing me, I could not stop her as she drank my warm blood, all I could feel was my desire for her.

She was naked underneath her dress, and we made love against the wall, our passion building and our desires exploded together.

She smiled, licking my blood from her lips and just fading into the night and leaving me alone.

I frequent the same bar each night for I know she will return for me.

Just as I know I can never become one like her, but my desires burns for her body and her bite.

So I wait here for her tonight, at a bar they call The Vampire Lover.

2: Snow

In reality I have no name.

But I have been known as snow, a name given to me by humans, a name given to me over the last two centuries.

I am searching for a woman, a woman unlike any other, a dark haired beauty with emerald eyes.

She looks to only be in her early twenties, but in fact, she is older than I am.

I also look to be mid twenty something, my skin looks pale and my eyes are of ice blue, I stand six foot tall and my dark black hair is shaved, very short. In the United Kingdom it would be a skin head, in America it would be a  crew cut.

Women are attracted to me, there are many that watch me here in this club, a club that was once a bar but it still retains the name "Vampire Lover".

Vampires, we are real but not as the stuff named in legends, we exist and yes we must feed on blood but we no longer have to kill.

The woman I seek is of the Lords and Ladies of the Higher Blood, but she is a rogue, she just takes what she needs to exist, she only needs to drain her victims of little more than a pint.

You see, only the Higher Blood have the ability to turn their prey into our kind and they believe in the old ways, they believe in killing so this Lady is something they want to destroy.

That is why they sent me to find her, I have tracked  her to this Club and I know soon she will come to feed.

Until that time I will wait, then I will do what I have to do, what I was bred to do, progress our species above our prey and that means destroying rogue vampires.

3: She Feels

I frequent this place called The Vampire Lover because I know I must.

The thirst overcomes me and I must feed, but I refuse to kill anymore and I just only take enough to survive, I only need a small amount, no more than a pint.

Men say I am beautiful, long black hair and eyes of green, and I know this body entices them and if I give them a moment of pleasure as I feed, so be it.

Desire is what increases the pleasure to feed, and there is always someone to clench my thirst and to make me feel alive again.

I have not had these feelings for a long time, I used to feel as cold and as dead as I really am and I never used to give in to my lust, I just killed my prey but now I see them as creatures of ultimate pleasure in more ways than one.

I once was a Lady, high up in the Order of Vampires but I discovered mercy and compassion, I discovered I needed more than just blood.

But my enemies will move against me soon, they depise rogues such as I and they will try to destroy me.

I am called Forrest, just like the green of my eyes and once again I love feeling alive.

4: The King

I have been ressurrected to lead my people once again, I have been disturbed from my eternal rest.

I find myself appalled by what I now see, we were once feared and respected but now, now we are envisioned as creatures of romantic nonsense.

We are creatures of a night, a vampire must be seen as the essense of evil and terror.

But this is no more for humans now see us as seduction, but yes, we do seduce.

We seduce to kill, to drain the life blood of our victims and tear out their throats so they never become like us.

We are....we are cursed to this unlife and we have lost what we once were, the nightmare that dwelt within the night.

My vampires want me to fight against our rogues, to hunt them down and destroy them.

This is not how it must be, for we will become like the humans we hunt for I refuse to be like them and their petty wars.

They kill each other over the most inane of reasons, we are better than this cattle that we prey upon.

But, in truth, I envy them.

They can feel the sun on their skin, to see the beauty of nature and relish in their emotions,

They raise children and teach them the truth of humanity, they cherish and hold what we can not have.

We destroy life becaused we are cursed to do so, but we can be like them in many ways.

Where they are addicted to their drugs and alcohol, we are addicted to their emotions due to our empathic nature.

We can feel their emotions but we can control them for that is how we feed on them, how we use them.

We make them desire us then take their lives, but only the most beautiful of them will we give our curse.

We carry a virus within our fangs, infecting those we choose to be like us.

We can not change the living, only those we drain to death for the virus never exists in the living.

This is why these rogue vampires never kill, only taking just what they need and addicted as empaths to crave human emotions.

I must reason with them because humans will never accept us for what we are, we will never be able to co-exist.

I must unite all vampires and bring back the fear that we once were.

This world will belong once more to the night and our story begins anew.
5: Doctor Amanda Jones
Vampires are real.

Not in the way they are protrayed now, creatures of romantic film but as the old Brad Stoker terror.

My husband was killed by one, and he came back to try and feed on me.

I'm fifty seven years of age and he was sixty when he died, but he looked to be twenty years younger when he came for me that night and I was forced to destroy him.

They don't like silver so my crucifix saved me, for some reason the metal burns them so anything made of it will hold them back.

My husband was pierced through the heart with one of his own snooker cues, so the old stake through the heart is known to work.

I hunt then with two others, putting them out of their misery and we have dissected these vile creatures with a hope of learning more.

We know they are super strong and have the ability to heal, and to even grow amputated limbs back.

They need fresh blood and they can not stand natural sun light, it burns them and destroys them so it explains why they hunt only at night.

When they bite, not all their victims change and we can not understand why that is.

We know that when they feed they can reflect in a mirror, but otherwise they are invisible.

This must be because of the warm blood consumed, as they are undetectable when they are hunting and not even a camera can capture their cold souls, unless they have fed.

They can change form as well, which I do not understand so yes, a vampire can turn into a bat if it wished.

Water also seems to have some impact on them, it does not kill them but will burn their skin.

There is so much more to learn about them, and how to stop them.

At least if you sever the head, decapitate them, they stay dead and as I mentioned, a stake through the heart stops them but does not kill them.

If you remove the stake, they come back as the heart repairs itself once again.

And fire destroys them, plus silver bullets will hurt them, but only silver because lead has no affect at all.

I will not stop until we destroy the very last one and send them all back to Hell.

But lately they are growing in numbers and I fear they are ready to take over man-kind, there is a war brewing and soon they will become real to us all.

I pray we can stop them.

The story is amazing. I wanted to read more. You brought me in with a strong opening story. Vampire lovers can tempt any man. The story got stronger and better. I like the storyline. This would be a interesting tale. The ending was interesting. Left a opening for additional story.

I enjoy your stuff for the most part, but I feel the need to warn you about this one. Vampires are sooooo overdone. Yet there still seems to be an audience for them, but if you are going to continue this, you need to make sure you have elements that are completely unique. I think you've written this outline well, but I'm not really seeing anything unique here. The first scenario was hot though!

Um. Well. I hate to say it, but this is probably the most over-used plot in Vampire literature to date. The whole 'oh no! they're going to take over the earth! But Wait! There's one benevolent one, who's being hunted by the rest, and she/he will be our salvation!"

Yeah, I know it's tough to be original with a vampire novel. I like the first two chapters best. I'd like to see better character development for Forrest (really? Forrest?). I think you could probably write a pretty wicked erotica between the first three characters introduced...

I really love how you introduced these characters from each of their points of view. it really gives more detailed information and the reader can feel with the characters. I think this is a great idea and keep writing!!

This is a good story layout, an outline, but it would be better if you SHOWED what would happen, and not have the characters TELL you what happened. Add action, action, action, and the story will explain itself. Keep writing.
