(55) The Spider

(55) The Spider

A Poem by Chris Smith Welshpoetcs

I saw a horrible spider crawl,

All down my bedroom wall.

Staring with eight beady eyes,

Giving me a terrible surprise.

With eight legs, hairy and black.

And three red dots upon his black.

He stayed there, looking at me,

I am sure he had a smile I could see.

So I shouted for my dad.

He look a look and went mad.

"I'm not touching that, It's all hairy",

"Take a look, it's too scary".

So we all packed and moved away.

I wonder if the spiders' still there today.

Because now in our new house,

I have just seen a mouse.

We have one poisonous spider in Michigan. It is small and pretty. If it bite you. Your body part will swell up like a balloon. Spiders are good for the control of nature. But some can create fear. A very good story. I have no fear of spiders. I know many people who do. A excellent poem.

You've "spun" a good one, here, Chris--for all us kids.

I would have moved too! I hate spiders. We have black widows here, and I'm always afraid of coming across them when doing the spring yard cleanup. Creepy write!
