(33) A Blood Red Sun

(33) A Blood Red Sun

A Poem by Chris Smith Welshpoetcs

Did the see the moths dancing?
Getting too close to the flame
See them burn and fall in flames
Because the light attracted them
Until the heat clipped their wings

That is like the life we have to lead
Always tempted by the prettiest things
Never understanding the danger
Until the time is way to late
And we find ourselves falling into obscurity

That is the power of a blood red Sun
Because we admire the beauty as it shines
But gaze too long and you lose your sight
And that beauty will long be gone
And then like the poor moth, you will fall
