(28) Unseen Beauty

(28) Unseen Beauty

A Poem by Chris Smith Welshpoetcs
"

Sometimes we never see the true beauty

"
She looks at her reflection

Mirror holds the image of her face

Looks at the make up and makes her selection

Puts it on to show her beauty and grace

She is a pretty picture with cherry lips

She loves to look good for all to see

In her hair, pink ribbons and golden clips

She looks good, so beautiful to see

But she never goes outside the door

She will never be going anywhere

Scared that what men are looking for

That they only will see her wheel chair

Such a gentle presentation, but man does that last bit pummel the heart!
Men and women are both guilty of this offense. We've listened too long to others telling us what beauty is, that we fail to see it when it's right before us.

Thanks for posting this. ^-^
As a firm believer of the idea that -if we only take the time- we can find beauty anywhere, this piece really touched base.
Great write.

the brilliance of how we truly miss the true beauty sometimes...a very good insight...though provoking.

Its so sad, so many women believe this, and not just those who maybe in a wheelchair. If only they realized its not the outside that truly counts and that there are many men and friends who see beyond that to the person they really are if only they would give them a chance. You are a very observant and caring person. Thank you for sharing :)
