(21) Black Kitten

(21) Black Kitten

A Poem by Chris Smith Welshpoetcs
"

Written for my daughter in 1999.

"

The black kitten that sat on my knee.

Suddenly looked up and said to me.

"I am feeling hungry my good man".

"Please will you open up a tin can".

"Beef or rabbit, any kind of meat".

"Anything to give me a tasty treat".

"If you do this, I do intend",

"To always be your very best friend".

I scratched the black kitten on the head.

Thought for a while, and then I said.

"I know that I well fed you today".

"So please do not look up at me that way".

"Looking at me with green eyes so sad".

"You are only trying to make me feel bad".

"So it will not work, that look of sorrow".

"You will just have to wait until tomorrow".

Ha! Brings back the good ole memories of my cat. She happened to be black, however, had white paws and white from between her eyes down to her nose. Oh, how I remember those sad, green-like eyes. She always made me happy, and this just brings back the good ole memories.

lol Now this was a perfect tale of how a cat really is. They one, own all, two, need all, and three, are the masters of all. Okay so they think that! lol But what a great job you brought forth with this. i so enjoyed it..

Me, I have two dogs.. Think cats are bad? You should see my monsters.. Yikes!

You described a cat perfect to the tee. I have my cats. They believe they own the house and their feeding time. I like the story on the poem. A very good ending to a excellent poem.

Great flow and rhyme; I think you have captured the cats think to a tee, bribing with friendship. I bet your daughter loves this piece, as I do...

Great Write!

Our pets certainly know how to get what they want from us... though this kitty will have to try a little harder! Great fun!
