To Change New MexicoA Poem by M. WellonA poem of place and spirit. To
Change New Mexico, The
storms and I go
moan... oh--moan--oh-- through
wind-blasted juniper and
sage crag plateaus. We hissed fast in winter cottonwoods, and
whistled through barren orchards, freezing
shocking faces in
shed shack-o-ramas, and
flat tire tractors projecting from
the brilliant snow. We're
gone blown roaring
louder than yellow mechano; road
grade-o-bulls pushing
dirty slush from
the earthen parking lot in
Taos Pueblo where
storms and I go
moan... oh--moan--oh-- through
wind-blasted juniper and sage crag plateaus. © 2016 M. Wellon |
