Lauren

Lauren

A Poem by Deborah Dhue
"

A song I wrote when I thought of what the name Lauren means to me

"

She pulls her hair up for the day,

Looks in the mirror

Wanting her reflection to stay

But afraid of past mistakes.

Black and white is her face

With a touch of blue

To soften the edges

And steady time’s pace.

Lauren

Why spend your life wondering

Wasting the year away

On everything that happened yesterday?

Black and blue

The term for bruised,

But she won’t let anything heal

From when she was used.

Maybe if you leave

And hide far away

The world will remember you

For how long you grieved.

Lauren

Why spend your life wondering

Wasting the year away

On everything that happened yesterday?

Life will get better

If for once you’d just love.

ANd the new you could bloom

If you finally would just let her.

Lauren

Why spend your life wondering

Wasting the day away

On everything that happened yesterday?

Lauren

Why spend your life wondering

Wasting the day away

On everything that happened yesterday?

I sense this poem is about a girl named Lauren, but that may just be me.....I could be wrong.

Thanks for sharing.
