The Writer's Plight (Virginia Woolf)A Poem by Jesse W.I could be pretty in dim candlelight When the moon is high and the sun is down Beauty enhanced by radiant starlight Made up and ready for a night on the town But darkness digs deep underneath my eyes Multiple candles enhance the blank page Pen in hand, ready for the next surprise Imagination takes the center stage! I write through the night to combat my plight Pen to ink, ink to page, till dawn's first light
