RainA Poem by Jesse W.The perfect morningI wake to the sound of rain on the roof I glance down: she always smiles in her sleep. The thumping of my heart still serves as proof That I am hers, forever to love and keep. For me, the rain meant that the skies do weep Tears of joy, the same that well up inside As I feel her shiver, pull her closer to confide In my warmth, feel my love flow strong and deep She opens her eyes, lifts them to meet mine Her smile, it widens, intensifies. A flash of light elicits a soft cry She laughs and grins before whispering 'You're mine.' It's true, and not once do I marvel why As the rain falls and light pierces the skies
