A Cry in the Wilderness

A Cry in the Wilderness

A Poem by Robert Francis Callaci

Snow flakes and icy lakes

Frozen toes and Eskimos

The sun shines, the wind blows

Consumption grows as the pipeline flows

No more sacred sands and pristine lands

For we need our cars and candy bars

So we dig and cut and gut the land

For we are Man’ and so we can

Nature weeps, the devil sings

At Mans' greed and pride

And what it brings

Just lots of useless

little things…

This is the only world we got and we're not its only residents-a heartfelt kiss and a lovers embrace is worth far more then little bling bling and a money clip.

Oh God how nice this is..
Icy lakes and and the sun shine, and a soft wind blows..no more
sacred sands, pristine lands, yet we dig and cut,cut and gut the land
For we as Mighty Man,and so we can
Nature weeps, while devil sings in joy and laugh
at man greed and pride and stupidity
and what it brings, just useless things
what a great wise write this is,i wish if only few would think the same
lovely write..

Ah!!! Just wrote a comment and lost my wireless signal!!!

Love how you still invoke darkness in something as positive as an Earth-first poem. Rhyming scheme is as refined as usual and I am green with envy.

Been trying to write rhymed verse lately and am failing miserably but I won't give up.

And to think that wars are fought over "candy bars and bling!"

And the beat goes on!

Love this one Bob!
