On the head of a needle

On the head of a needle

A Poem by Robert Francis Callaci
"

A fantasy of apocalyptic dimensions

"

If there were no heaven

Where would God dwell?

If there was no Hell

Where would be Lucifer’s cell?

If there was no love

Where would all that hate go?

If evil did not exist

Would not the righteous be pissed?

Wonder and thunder

Abel and Cain

Fruit trees and cattle

Sweat, blood and battle

Adam and Eve

A seed that’s diseased

Unfaithful and ungrateful

Gods’ devil is pleased

Dark clouds and white lightening

Do angels have wings?

Salvation over damnation

Duality sings

Old Solomon loved Sheba

Lot loved his wife

Free will demands choices

Love requires sacrifice

By Joshua’s Will

the Sun stood Still

Jericho fell

God’s soldiers did kill

The trumpet roared

And the vanquished

were slain where they stood

Desert fire

Ecclesiastical mire

Retribution requires dire solutions

Administered by religious institutions

The old covenant is broken

The new just a token

Empty platitudes and hollow attitudes

The soul is just a commodity

Holy! Holy! Holy!

Thus spoke the Lord:

The day of reckoning has come and gone

Especially the last line of this stanza, you realise of course that I am now going to have to post on this subject.......

Good to catch up with you all!

My favorite poet is Greg Graffin, PhD. He is the singer for the Punk rock group Bad Religion. He is also a teacher at UCLA. And one of the finest poets I've ever read. This reminds me of some of his work. I have no higher compliment to give. I like to be hit over the head.

Oh, the righteous would indeed be pissed!

Fiery stuff. Last time I gave a conference talk, a woman told me afterwards, "That was fiery, like a 17th century Lutheran sermon". She meant it as a compliment, and I expect she'd give you a similar compliment on this little grenade.

Another barn burner. Bob? Have you ever thought about the Jinn? I would imagine you might be intrigued with that desert dweller.
