An Apostates Lament

(An excerpt from the gospel of Juda’s)

As I stare angrily at the sky

cursing your name, I can sense your joy

seeing me racked with guilt and despair as

I leap into the abyss to be consumed

by the eternal fires of hell.

In this never-ending story between

salvation and damnation: I choose the latter.

I’d rather rot and suffer in hell than be carried

on angels’ wings to your palace of sanctimonious

whims and desires.

You let him suffer and die on the cross for your glory; abandoning him in his final hour. Made him believe

he was your only begotten son. A deception even Satan swallowed whole.  What type of loving god does that?

But love was never a part of the equation; only power and your unquiescing need for adulation.

I thought Satan was the enemy; but he is just a straw dog,

a rabid pet that you unleashed upon us for your enjoyment.
