In the Dead of Day

In the Dead of Day

A Chapter by Robert Francis Callaci
"

a little horror story

"

Turning Around in the Dead of Day (can be deadly to your health)

Don’t turn around

if you do

you’ll be dead

from the monster

who lives-

down by the shed

sliding out under your bed

stop the crying

no whining allowed

stay fully alert

still and inert

keep your feet firmly

planted in the dirt

don’t make a sound

get rid of that frown

smile like imbecilic

circus clowns moving

in and about town

but if you’re the foolhardy

stupid moronic idiot

that I think you are and

foolishly turn around

in order to play the

odds and gamble

with your life

suffice it to say

you’ll unceremoniously be---

slit sliced and diced

hogtied and bound

six feet dead in the ground
