Anorexia Nervosa

Anorexia Nervosa

A Poem by wearmywingsproudly
"

A deadly disease I once found myself struggling with. I was one of the lucky ones who survived though lots don't.

"
I know it hurts,

I feel the pain,

                          Stomach rumbles.

I know I'm hungry,

I feel the emptiness,

                            Must, can't, eat.

I know I'm killing,

I feel the death,

                            I collapse.

I know I'm gasping,

I feel the eyes,

                          Must, can't, breathe.

I know I'm dead,

I feel no mourners,

                            My funeral.

I know I'm hell-bound,

I feel the fire,

                              Too, late, now.

I like this poem. It says in a few short words, some of the feelings that go along with this illness. I myself have gone through an eating disorder for many years. A very nice piece
