aftertaste

aftertaste

A Poem by wearejareth

passion seed residue on soft petaled skin

leaves me smoldering on the bed

you breathe and set me on fire again

letting your words solicit my head

they say "i'm afraid of the aftertaste of love,

but I know with you, there will never be one"

I really love the first sentence, wow! Also the third sentence, you breathe and set me on fire again. Love this poem! I'm wanting a part 2 to this poem. This is fantastic. Keep it up

I love the concept of an 'aftertaste' in this context, especially with the imagery of 'smoldering on the bed' in mind. Really great piece!
