sores

sores

A Poem by wearejareth

when we kiss after we fight

we can feel the sores on our tongues

from all the s**t we didn't mean

or did

but they'd go away and soon once again

we’d talk into our kisses with

fresh new tongues

and words that we meant

or didn’t

I love the dualism occurring between lines 3-4 and lines 8-9.

One line I would work on is "but they'd go away and soon once again". It seems long and takes me out of the poem.
