Oblivion

Oblivion

A Poem by Anne Lyons

There was a time when it was all easy.

Then one day you realize you miss

days when you were young and

oblivious to the facts that are life.

It changes, and never promises.

It stings almost instantly when

you've finally found some peace.

And with our own medicine

we try and fight the virus with

every ounce of strength we have

left at the end of the day.

Sometimes we find it

in the people who have

stuck by our side

or, if you grow to be wise

enough, you learn to

fight it by running;

with no intention of stopping.
