I say "Hey", you say "Straw"

I say "Hey", you say "Straw"

A Poem by Anne Lyons

You provoke a side

of me that loves simple

talks about nothingness,

while drinking our

coffee in the late

evening.

Your bold comments

keep me on my toes

and allow me to

push forward.

Our age may hold

a huge gap, but

your wise words

will continue to keep

me coming back for more.

I know these days

will soon show an

end as each day you

die a little more.

Until then, we will

enjoy each others

company and I will

end my day thanking God

for bringing you

into my life.

Even for a short

while.
