Space

Space

A Poem by Anne Lyons

I remember when I was a child

I would escape to the backyard,

where I found myself lost in the

cosmic lights that filled the night sky.

I was always a curious child who

dreamed of traveling to that big

world away from my own.

I would study the stars and

the placement they took in the

sky, while simultaneously being

fascinated by the most compelling

lights I had laid my eyes upon.

If there was ever a thing in

the world that was impeccable,

it was this mysterious expansion,

known as space.

Even as adults we look into space. Maybe no longer as and adventure, but as a place that will deliver us reprieve. A sheltering vacuum of nothing... sometimes is sounds so nice.
