New World Order

Time after time I return to love

From the beginning I saw right through the illusion

And my mother knew I was different from other humans

Making my way with a rebel heart beating

though there were times I felt like retreating

I wanted to give up but I persevered

Time after time, I'd return to love when the world reared

it's ugly head, so no, I don't care for this way of life

I clearly see in the dark with my inner light

Which I shine, now, brighter than ever before

Because for as long as I am here I cannot ignore

The injustice all around, seen and unseen

Mainly why I do not trust the American Dream

But I will not focus on the problem when there is a solution

Knowing democracy will not be the resolution

Nor will religion, since both are the reason we're confused

And now is the time to stop needless suffering and abuse

If you need me to paint a bigger picture

I will gladly do so and show you a brighter future

Indeed, it's kind of like a utopia

Keeping in mind our imperfections and the flaws of America
