Ocean Secrets

Ocean Secrets

A Poem by Eri

Ocean Secrets

Like a flower in the sea,

Asking “what is happening to me?”

Thoughts won’t stop flowing

Like waves coming and going.

So many things around,

Nowhere the key can be found.

A lock that can’t be opened,

Has to be broken to see

What was hidden from me.

It doesn’t make sense to me,

What does a flower do in the sea?

Washed up and away by the tide,

Being left alone on the ocean side.

Water is meant to clean,

But trash can still be seen.

Little pieces floating around,

Whirling around, never removed,

By the currents gently smoothed.

Will there be a day that everything’s clear,

No more floating flower, confusion or fear?

An open lock with the right key,

No more secrets being hidden in the sea.
