(Old) The Hunt 7: The Human

EXT. MONSERVO/ BACK OF AUCTION HOUSE/ NIGHT

BLAZE comes out the back door of the auction house and wonders around. Theres a thick layer of fog on the ground.

BLAZE

Where the hell am I; The set of some cheesy horror flick?

He walks out onto a main road then picks a direction.

INT. APARTMENT 318

KATSURO lies on the bed. PACIFIC who still possessing KYRA, stares at KATSURO, waiting for him to get up. MARK leans on the wall a decent ways away from PACIFIC and tries to not stare at him. A lady with a unicorn horn on her head and a ruby in her chest, named SAPPHIRE, stands over KATSURO. She smiles and turns to MARK.

SAPPHIRE

(to Mark)

You're a f*****g moron.

MARK

What? It's not unfixable or anything right?

SAPPHIRE

He's a Kitsune. Luckiest thing alive. He's legally immortal. It literally missed every single vital organ. He'll be fine.

SAPPHIRE touches her horn and it glows. He finger starts to glow as he hand slowly moves away from her horn. She touches the wound and KATSURO screams in pain for only a second. Then he relaxes and SAPPHIRE'S hand stops glowing. Then she walks over to MARK.

SAPPHIRE

That'd be 200.

MARK

You said it was on you.

SAPPHIRE

Yeah, you wouldn't let me come otherwise. Someones got to watch over this guy.

PACIFIC

I do. All hours of the night.

SAPPHIRE

Good for you hun.

(to mark, whisper)

Who the hell is that?

MARK

(to sapphire, whisper)

Um... thats a harder question then you think.

SAPPHIRE sighs and holds out her hand.

MARK

Fine, a*****e.

MARK takes some crumpled dollars out of his pocket and hands her a few. SAPPHIRE counts the money then nod.

SAPPHIRE

Nice doing business with you.

MARK

Yeah whatever

PACIFIC

Good by nice lady

SAPPHIRE

Well at least someone appreciate me.

SAPPHIRE leaves. Shortly after an ALICORN appearers out the window.

MARK

(to the alicorn)

Just get out of here!

She flies away. Followed by sparkles and rainbows.

INT. MONSERVO/ ROAD

BLAZE looks up too the sky and in the distance he sees a rainbow, a very glittery rainbow.

BLAZE

What the fu-

BLAZE bumps into EMMA who seems to be in a hurry. She drops a folder full of papers, and scrabbles to pick them up.

BLAZE

Oh I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention.

BLAZE bends down to help her with her papers.

EMMA

Thank you.

The papers looks like official police papers. BLAZE sees this.

BLAZE

Are you a cop or something?

EMMA

No it's just a hobby.

BLAZE

Oh cool. I'm Blaze by the way.

EMMA

My names Emma. Nice to meet you. I must say you're very polite for a... well you know a...

BLAZE looks disappointed.

BLAZE

Oh no, your raciest.

EMMA

No no no. I promise I'm accepting of all forms of being.

BLAZE laughs nervously.

BLAZE

What are you talking about?

MONA comes dashing around the corner.

MONA

(to emma)

Damn your fast.

BLAZE

(looking at mona)

Your friends really unsettling.

MONA sees BLAZE and grabs him by his shirt. She starts running. EMMA follows.

EMMA

Mona, I'm pretty sure this is kidnapping.

MONA

He's human.

EMMA

What?!

CENTAURS turn the corner wielding battle axes.

CHIEF CENTAUR

Stop, this is the police. If you don't corporate we have permission to chop off you heads.

EMMA

Mona you know I hate to ask but

MONA

Yeah its fine. I can take it.

EMMA

Okay if you say so.

EMMA grabs MONA'S hand, and in a blast of blackish grayish feathers they're gone.

CHIEF CENTAUR

Well s**t

INT. EMMA'S APARTMENT

The apartment is covered with papers and research. Some of these papers are pined to the wall with string connecting the papers together.

MONA, EMMA, and BLAZE appear in the middle of the apartment. MONA immediately falls to the floor a sleep, and BLAZE runs to the other side of the room. EMMA picks up MONA, puts her on the couch, and pulls a blanket over here. She then walks into the kitchen which is connected to the main room and starts boiling some water.

EMMA

Do you take sugars with you tea?

BLAZE

(blabbering, scared)

What the hell... where those Cen... what's going on?!

EMMA

I'll take that as a no.

INT. APARTMENT 318

PACIFIC still watches over KATSURO intensely. MARK has gotten a little closer though. PACIFIC doesn't look at MARK when he talks.

MARK

So...

PACIFIC

Yes?

MARK

What the hell are you?

PACIFIC

One day I knew. Now I don't.

MARK

Oh, so you're like some creepy bug thing with amnesia.

PACIFIC thinks about it.

PACIFIC

Yes

MARK

Alright then. Hey, um the possession thing, that doesn't hurt right?

PACIFIC

I don't know. Maybe

MARK

Oh cool, cool.

KATSURO opens his eyes. PACIFIC smiles. KATSURO sniffs PACIFIC.

KATSURO

Pacific? Is that you?

MARK

You mean you didn't know either. He possesses people and stuff.

KATSURO

No, I know that.

MARK

That's something you tell people.

KATSURO

Well I didn't know he could jump around.

KATSURO looks around without sitting up.

KATSURO

Where's that person you were possessing.

MARK

Oh, I know I was forgetting something.

PACIFIC

Right, there was someone else.

KATSURO

Alright then. First things first.

KATSURO looks at the plant, and tries to sit up.

KATSURO

We need to get Kyra back.

PACIFIC

(mad)

No! Lie down.

KATSURO lies down, kind of scared.

PACIFIC

I'll get him myself. You stay here.

KATSURO

Are you sure you...

PACIFIC

(mad)

Yes

PACIFIC points at MARK.

PACIFIC

Because he's coming with me.

MARK

I'm not getting roped into another stupid idea.

PACIFIC

Well, please?

MARK

Nope not going to happen. Bye

MARK leaves.

PACIFIC

That didn't work?

KATSURO

Now Pacific, it's going to be almost impossible on you own, and this city dangerous at night. I'd rather I'd come with...

PACIFIC

No, you wont get hurt again

PACIFIC leaves.

KATSURO

(yells)

Wait! Pacific!

KATSURO runs is hands through his hair. Stressed.

INT. EMMA'S APARTMENT

BLAZE sits on a chair surrounding a coffee table littered with papers. EMMA sits on the other side. MONA lies on the coach next to the table.

BLAZE

So monsters. That's a thing?

MONA

For the hundredth time yes.

BLAZE

Yeah sorry. It's a lot to take in.

EMMA

Now that you're more calm I was wondering if you could answer a few questions.

BLAZE

Alright.

EMMA

How can you see us?

BLAZE

I don't know. I'm not blind or anything.

EMMA

You see the thing is. This town is protect. All, how do I put this...

MONA

Not monsters

EMMA

I was trying to think of something a little more elegant but alright. Not monsters. There's like a spell on this town. Humans can't see it. Now I don't think you're lying. Not offense but you don't look like a very good actor.

BLAZE

I'm not a not person. If that's what you're asking.

EMMA

Well there may be something wrong with the spell. Do you remember coming here or anything? Maybe a way that seemed like a dream or something.

BLAZE

I honest don't remember. I was visiting my dad at the hospital, then poof. I'm here.

EMMA

Ummm. Well I've got nothing. Mona do you?

MONA

Nope

EMMA

Alright then.

BLAZE

What are all these papers for? If you don't mind me asking a question or too.

EMMA

There anything I could get my hands on really.

BLAZE

So you just like stealing papers then?

EMMA

No I'm looking for something. The town keeps records of everything. Monster, strength, weaknesses, people who hunter them. What they want. I'm trying to find everything on this one company in particular. Gencorps.

BLAZE

Hey I've heard of them. They do all that medicany stuff.

MONA laughs.

BLAZE

What?

EMMA

They also hunt monsters. My dad was an investigator in New York. He didn't do anything wrong, but he hunted them down anyway.

BLAZE

Oh I'm sorry.

EMMA

I guess the papers are here so I can learn why.

BLAZE rubs his eyes then looks at his hand. It's covered with blood.

BLAZE

What the...

EMMA sees his eye, which is now bleeding like it's been cut.

EMMA

Let me go find a bandage.

EMMA leaves. MONA stares at BLAZE. She see what looks like a smaller PACIFIC (bug thing) crawl out of his eye and scurry way. BLAZE doesn't seem to notice.

MONA

Hellen you crazy b***h. I thought you where done with that.

MONA gets up, and walks towards EMMA.

MONA

(whisper)

The kids pretty much dead.

EMMA

Are you sure?

BLAZE

Hey, I think it stopped bleeding.

EMMA

Oh that's great!

(to mona, whisper)

See, better.

MONA shakes here head. No it's not better.

EMMA

Then what really wrong with him?

EXT. MONSERVO/ STREETS/ NIGHT

PACIFIC walks down the street. He sees the smaller him from before. Scurry towards him. It gets PACIFICS attention and he looks at it confused. It runs off in the other direction and PACIFIC follows it.

INT. EMMA'S APARTMENT

There's a knock on the door.

BLAZE

Do you think it's the police centaur things?

MONA

Na, we're on the other side of town. They can't track a reaper.

They knock again.

EMMA

Well there's only one way to find out.

EMMA walks to the door and opens it cautiously. PACIFIC on the other side. That LITTLE PACIFIC scurries back into BLAZE's eye. BLAZE rubs his eye's. Like they're irritated.

EMMA

Oh hey remember you. Yesterday, laundry. It's Krya right?

PACIFIC looks confused

PACIFIC

Um... yes.

EMMA

You can come in, if you'd like.

EMMA opens the door a little more as to invite him in. MONA gives EMMA a look like no stop it. Then points to BLAZE. EMMA immediately slams the door shut.

EMMA

Or I would invite you in if the place wasn't a total mess. Sorry about about that. Is there something I could do for you?

PACIFIC

I'm looking for someone.

EMMA

Have you tried the police? They're probably better at finding missing people then a lawyer.

PACIFIC

I think he's here. He has black hair but also blue at the same time. Kind of.

EMMA shut the door.

EMMA

Do you know someone? Lady, brown hair, she looks kind of high.

BLAZE

Maybe?

MONA

Emma don't let it in.

EMMA

She a shy harmless mess. I think it's alright.

MONA

It's not. Trust me.

EMMA

Okay.

BLAZE gets up.

BLAZE

Well it's worth to just say hi. She doesn't has to come in or anything.

MONA

You really shouldn't.

BLAZE

(to emma)

Just a second. Maybe it'll help me remember how I got here.

EMMA

I'd listen to Mona. She know what she's talking about.

BLAZE

I just need to know. Really need to know.

PACIFIC knocks on the door. BLAZE starts walking towards the door.

MONA

Emma keep him away from that door.

EMMA

What's going on?

MONA

Emma stop him.

BLAZE's walking turns to running.

MONA

Stop him, stop him now!

EMMA cuts her finger with the ring, and puts her hand on the wall. He blood moves along the wall to make a circle to the left of her hand. Out from the this circle pours a bunch of rats. These rats run towards BLAZE pinning him down with sheer number.

MONA

Rats?

EMMA

I stopped him didn't I?

BLAZE starts yelling, and growling like an angry dog.

EMMA

What's wrong with Blaze?

MONA

He's possessed.

EMMA

So what, we have to call a priest now?

MONA

No, it's worse then a demon.

EMMA

Oh, okay? And about the girl outside. Is she a...

MONA

Possessed too

EMMA

Okay good. I liked her.

MONA

She should be fine. This thing can only do this once. It must of liked him. Unlucky kid.

Suddenly a ball of bright white light engulfs the rats and BLAZE. The rats move away from BLAZE, and run towards EMMA and MONA. They start bitting and pulling them both down with way more strength then a rat should have. BLAZE walks towards the door. MONA summons her scythe but she barely move her arms.

EMMA

What did I do?

MONA

It most have possessed the rats.

EMMA

But I thought you just said...

MONA

I guess I was wrong.

BLAZE opens the door and PACIFIC possesses him again. KYRA falls to the floor. EMMA drags herself out the door as PACIFIC walks away.

EMMA

What did you do to him?!

PACIFIC stops walk and turns around. He looks confused.

PACIFIC

What do you mean?

EMMA

I'm going to put every ounce of my energy into stopping you. You hear me!

MONA

Emma. You don't even know him. What about your dad?

EMMA

Gencorps is invisible. It's been so long and we haven't found anything.

(to pacific)

But you. I know you. I can stop you. Even if it takes the rest of my life. Because that kid was innocent, and he seemed nice.

PACIFIC

Sorry I need to go home now. Katsuro will be worried.

He picks up KYRA and walks away.

EMMA

Stop, you hear me! Get back here!
