The Girl with Fire HairA Chapter by Anonymous RainFar away from the capitals and cities, in a small village surrounded by a enormous forest, was said to inhabit a demon. A demon with long black hair, as black as if no sun would ever shine upon it, eyes as red as blood, with long jagged claws. It was the eyes that shook every person that witnessed it. Cold merciless eyes that could kill you in a split-second. The town stood dead silent every night for the fear of this murderous beast. No child plays at sunset. For the fear of this beast the villagers sought to rid of, many come to dispose of this demon. For the reward. In this very village lived a girl. A girl with hair red as fire and eyes blue-green as a small clear pond. She arrived at the village when she was 4 years old. Weary and tired she fainted. The chief of the village took her in and adopted her as one of his own. She came alone with no memory of who she was or where she came from. The chief loved her very much, it seemed as though he loved her more than his own children. His wife and children became jealous and hateful. Everyday when the chief is out, they treat her as worse as a slave. She was abused, and was ferociously hated. For 11 years, this treatment continued. Her father, the chief never saw the facade in his the smiling faces of his wife and children, always believed her when she had told him that her cuts and bruises were from falling and tripping. He always smiled at her until one day, the day she was executed for a crime she never commited. Attempt of murder and stealing the treasured clear gem necklace of the chief. Each chief passed the necklace down to the next chief. It is the proof of one being a chief. It was the necklace passed down by his father to him. It was a treasure from his father. On that very day when she was accused of this crime, for the very first time, he ignored her plea. Farsiazuis, adopted daughter of the chief, Kain Anik, is now fourteen. She sighed as she wiped the sweat off her brows. Her mother had told her to milk the cows, clean out their stalls, and whole lot of absurd chores. She scowled, remembering her sibling's snickering at her as she left. Those snobby little brats! Everyday, it's always "Farsia do this!" "Farsia do that!" The only one that actually welcomes me home, is father thought Farsia. She could imagine his light brown hair, messy as always, and his hazel eyes smiling at her. She then heard a moo. "Oops sorry Kate, kinda dozed off a bit." said Farsia to the cow as she continued to milk her. In the end I'm all alone thought Farsia as she finished milking. The cow, Kate slowly walked back into her herd and started grazing. She groaned as she lifted the full pail of milk. A trinkle of blood flowed from her left arm. The wound reopened. "Damn. It still hurts," winced Farsia. It was painful to lift the pail. Both arms were injured. Yet she continued, slowly limping. Last night her older siblings ganged up on her and kicked her. Her legs took the worst of it. All bruised from the bottom to waist. She wore pants to hide it from her father. He wasn't home till morning, yet her mom saw the whole thing. She had a smug look as Farsia was beaten up. Ha. And when I looked at her, her whole faced scrunched up! Haha... silently laughed Farsia. She struggled to walk across the bridge that crossed the small stream. Just a little more and she'd be home. Suddenly something hit her foot. A rock? Five more came. Two swished passed, yet the other three found their target. It struck her head. She fell back as the milk pail fell. The fresh milk spilled out onto the soft grass. Her ears rang. She stared to see who did it, yet all she saw were 3 dark figures. They were smiling, smiling at the sight of her blood flowing out of her head. She tried to see more clearly, but it was no use. Her vision blurred and faded to black. Shouts. Screams. Farcia slowly opened her eyes. The sky was dark; dawn. She closed her eyes tightly as her head rang. "Argghhh!!" grunted Farcia. Her head felt as though it was about to burst. Then it suddenly stopped. She slowly lifted her hand and touched her head. Her hair matted and dried with blood. She groaned as she forced herself to get up. She looked towards the village. She saw light. Fire. Then she remembered. The bounty hunters have gathered today to hunt the demon. Farcia winced as she walked forward. She had hoped nobody noticed her missing presence but in fact they did. As soon as she got to the village, all eyes were on her. Farcia looked befuddled. These were not the usual cold look. It was a hateful glare. Suddenly something pulled her back. She screamed. Behind her was a large man. Her eyes widened as the man grabbed her by the throat. She gagged and choked. She struggled to wring the hand free. Why is this man choking me? Silently screamed Farcia. The man lifted her up as easily as lifting a rock. He then threw her in a bag. She screamed. Her throat cracked. Her scream ended abruptly as she suffocated; fainted once more.
