The Girl that Never Smiled

Tit tat tit tat as rain fell. With wet bangs stood a girl.Staring at the empty road.Her hazels eyes reflect sadness and pain.Left all alone in darkness is what she feels. She has no friends no one to trust. Her lips never curled, never smiled. As people walk by, they glance at her. She stares back. She felt their pity and stared coldly. Chills ran through their backs as they swiftly walked away. Drop by drop rained down her hair, as she stares toward the empty road once more. All her hopes and dreams were torn away from the moment they were born. Thoughts of dying raced through her mind. Her life was full of dread, full of unhappy things. She couldn't recall the time when she was ever happy...Flashbacks ran through her mind as she searched deeper towards her heart.But she couldn't go further.The darkness inside pulled her in slowly. She struggled to get free but the cold touch of the darkness drained her.Why can't I be happy? Why do you always take my happiness away? She cried out loud. The darkness snickered an evil grin and replied Your mine I will never let you go! I will never let you be happy! Suddenly it pulled harder and dragged her down. She reached out her hand for the faintest bit of hope she didn't want to let go. She didn't want to die. Her eyes closed as she fell towards deep slumber in the darkness, never to be opened again. On that very day, the sky was gray, and as the bells tong, under the dirt, under the grass, layed the girl that never smiled.
