The abyssA Poem by watch_the_worldEnjoy
I feel myself falling
Into a black and never ending abyss An abyss of uncertainty, Of surprise, mystery. I can't find a ledge, To hold onto. To keep myself up, To keep stable, functional. To keep me safe. I know it's too damn good To be true. For once I'm feeling no pain, No sorrow, No weakness, I'm happy, Even giddy. My conscience Whispers in my ear, Be careful, Or you'll trip and hurt yourself. Im so far into falling I have too much momentum and inertia Hurtling me With too much force. To trust again; Uncomfortable. To love again; A comfortable discomfort. I can't do anything more Than trust I am in safe Arms to guide me to the bottom Of the abyss. The abyss whom mocks me, Causes self doubt. The abyss the stops me from Giving everything I have. The abyss that I'm afraid of. This isn't the first time down The crevice in the earth. I fell and broke a few bones, Left my heart in tattered shards. I'm in full motion, With no sign of stopping. Looks like I'm just along for the ride. Love is a cruel cruel thing. © 2012 watch_the_worldAuthor's Note
