I don't understand

what happened to you,

what happened to me,

what happened to us.

 

Perfect,

that's what we were

that's what we can never be again.

I know it scares you,

you know its the truth

just as well as I do.

 

Potential,

that's what we both know we had.

That's what saddens me until numb.

 

I gave up,

on you,

on us,

on everything,

even myself.

Wasted,

wasted the best thing

that had ever happened to me.

 

There is nothing I wouldnt do to have you back.

To be held in your arms again

like we used to

even if it was only for a moment.

 

I cant believe you were the one that got away...

 

It shouldnt have been you.
