To the beat of our noisy hearts

My older brother Alex, stumbles in on Tuesday at about 1 am. He's drunk out of his mind which isnt common on a Tuesday usually he waits until at least Friday. Deciding to try to get up to go to the bathroom, Alex slips and falls on the linoleum, not going to lie, it was absolutely hilarious. When he fell he started having a laughing fit which woke up little Jeydon who was fast asleep in the next room.

I rush to Jeydon's crib, pick him up start bouncing him in my arms, trying to calm him down a bit. I slug over to the kitchen which is pitch black, I open up the fridge and the light blinds me. After fixing a bottle for Jeydon, Alex comes stumbling out the bathroom talking to himself about some sort of magical rhinestone. I start to feed Jeydon the bottle of formula, and Alex stumbles over to me and asks me if I know the way to Diamond Hills, I said yes. I led him to his room which was in the basement, told him that this was Diamond Hills and the Rhinestones would be found here, and at that moment he passed out on the carpet. Well, at least he passed out inside the house this time, not on the driveway like last time. I roll Alex onto his stomach (in case he vomits he wont choke on it) and turn off the lights and leave. I feed Jeydon the rest of the bottle and set him down to bed.

Jeydon is adorable. He deserves better than this.

Today is Wednesday, Alex has a hangover, not exactly a good day. But when you're me, I guess no day is a very good one. But thats alright, I have sleep to look forward to. No one can bother me in my lucid state of mind.

My mother shakes me awake. I sit up immediately, sluggishly heading upstairs to find Alex holding his temples, I feel sorry for him.

My mother has to get up very early every morning to go to work which means that she goes to bed early, So after 11pm Jeydon is mine and Alex's job to take care of. I think that its a pretty fair system. By this time you're probably thinking where is her father? Why isnt he helping? Well, its very simple you see my father is off fighting in the war. He sends home a check every month that helps out a ton. My father is a great noble man, dont get him wrong. I do admit I worry about him at times. What happens to Alex, Jeydon, Mom and Me if something happens to him?

On my way to first hour I am running late, I am running on no sleep which is exhausting to me. I walk into class 5 minutes after the bell rings. Thank god the teacher wasnt there, I would be screwed otherwise.

The only seat that is open is right next to some guy with dark hair and the greenest most emerald like eyes Ive ever seen. They are absolutely beautiful. He has ear buds in not looking for conversation I suppose. I quickly rush to the seat, he immediately took out his ear buds and said "Hey", the minute I sat down. I said "Hi" back and flashed a smile. I guess he is looking for conversation after all.
