I hope you find it

I hope you find it

A Poem by watch_the_world

I cannot count the times I have written you this letter,
I have a waste bin full of several versions.
No matter how many different ways I start,
No matter how many different ways I end,
It all comes out the exact same way.
Angry, confused, distraught.
Sometimes I guess you have to move on
to bigger and better things.
I am thankful for the time that we spent together.
It showed me the kind of person I am,
and the kind of person I am striving to be.
You taught me how to love myself
for who I am,
not the mask I put on for the rest of world.
You taught me that the world keeps spinning,
even if you become numb,
there's always tomorrow.
You taught me to live for tomorrow,
to make choices that would benefit me
tomorrow, not today.
Most importantly,
You taught me that if I don't love myself,
I cannot possibly love anyone else,
because the best love evolves from self-love.
I wish nothing for you but
happiness.
And I hope you find it.

Just wanted to let you know that I started crying after reading the first stanza and a half. Not only does this apply to my life as well, but it was written in such a realistic and heart-felt way. Beautiful.
