As I see you, I smile

As I see you, I smile

A Poem by Meredithe

I see you first, I always do,

But when you see me, you smile.

You’re always happy to see me,

But not as happy as I am to see you.

You open your arms to me,

And I gladly insert myself between them.

I bet you don’t understand

Just how much I love you.

I know you love me too,

To some point at least.

My vision blurs,

And a single tear falls,

As I pull your now still form closer,

And let it fall to the ground.

I remove the bloodied knife from your back,

and watch as red liquid pools around you.

But as I look upon you, I smile

I can’t help it really, after all, I love you

the poem itself does sound a little forced but it still flows well. the imagery at the end was great. using colorful adjectives.
