Battles

A Poem by Brittany W

Workout workout workout

Eat less

No, this is too much

Fatfatfatfatfatfatfat

Workout workout workout

Maybe this meal can be cut

You’re just a fatty don’t add that

Workout workout workout

Im stuck here

Controlled by these thoughts

Workout workout workout

When is too much?

Ten more pounds sounds good

Workout workout workout

When will I be good enough?

When will I be happy with myself?

Workout workout workout

Im fat worthless piece of s**t

Workout workout workout

Im dying here,

Killing myself with these thoughts

Workout workout workout

I don’t care,

Skinny, skinny, skinny, is what I want

Workout workout workout

My body pleads for  me to stop

NO, never

Workout workout workout

Skinny skinny skinny

Fat fat fat

Workout workout workout

Please.. please, just let me be skinny

Workout workout workout

When is it enough?

Cant I be happy?

Workout workout workout..

Never.

Sadly, this an incredibly accurate depiction of the thought process of many, many people in an image-obsessed society. I enjoyed the rapid, unrelenting pace as it ran parallel to the idea of obtaining an instantly perfect figure that is ultimately an endless cycle of self-destruction and self-hatred. Very awesome.

I agree with the other review. Unfortunately, this is the basic truth of what some (and many) Americans face daily when it comes to weight loss. People are so obsessed with the "perfect image" that they forget who they truly are at heart, by becoming lost in the world of today's technology and trends. I love this sad, unfortunate, yet honest, poem.

I certainly know how this one goes ;-) ...a nice write which physically embodies the emotional concept well.

Admonishing self talk adroitly presented. Good example of conflicted emotions savaging the being.
