Afraid

She promises herself she won’t do to her children what shes done to her,

She promises she won’t rip her children’s heart out.

She watches, and promises she won’t make the same mistakes.

She knows what it feels like

To watch and have no way of stopping,

She knows what it feels like to have that ache in her heart

That numbing pain

The ripping and tearing,

The feeling of loneliness.

 

I know what it’s like to be scared,

I know what it feels like to have that pain in my heart

That very same consistant numbing pain,

The same anguish

and the ripping and tearing

I have the recurring fear that this will happen to them,

That they’ll experience the same s**t,

First hand

 

 

I dont want that
I’m scared for them.

Why are you not sure? You have a great way of expressing the perspective and emotion of being both in and outside of the narration. Your writing displays a 360 degree range. This is a good reflection moment captured with clarity and directness.
Each moment you capture and craft starts pointing in directions that may not be initially apparent. That's why we have to keep writing through the unsure times. It's all there. The words, what we want to say, it just needs our attention. Don't sweat it, keep writing.
