A Long Drive Home; Car Crashed

A Long Drive Home; Car Crashed

A Story by warwithpaper

In a car, three hour drive. We are heading home, from a weekend in Ocean City. The destination is Baltimore, so much boredom on the way back. I lay my head down, staring out the window to the sky. My music from my I-pod playing in my right ear, suddenly the sounds of screeching cars burst through the outside air. From where I stare, I see nothing except trees swirling around in circles. Outside the car I sit, a crash of much more of other cars is currently happening. Two cars collide, even flying up high. A car, flinging into the side of the road while another flips over it. More cars are swirling in circles, as a truck I trying to stop but fails, slamming into the pack of cars. Soon I start to hear my parents panicking, yet I do not panic myself. So I continue to lay there, with my silent bored expression. As my curious mind is at work, thinking of what is happening.
Soon I start to feel the car, which I am in, swirling out of control. A truck out of control soon hitting our side, with a collision so hard, it knocks and flips us over into a wall. My head flings to the side, maybe even giving me whiplash, the window cracks as my head hits it. A line of blood running down my head, more lines formed soon after. The car I am in, now sitting on its side, the sides I currently sit in. The glass is now broken, as my head lays in it. So much of my blood, has just leaked out. As I lay there, the blood is all over my dark brown hair. The brown eyes in my head, soulless, yet can stare forward processing the pictures I see. Still, no thoughts go through my head, no air to yell coming to me, I am too accepting of this fate.

Not like it matters, I doubt anyone would miss me, or even care. I feel no tears forming in my eyes, from neither pain nor sadness. Seeing through the windshield in front of me, I witness the truck heading towards us. The trucking swerving, obviously the driver cannot control it. The truck is now colliding with us, making a loud bang on collision. Pushing us into the wall, the wall weak was breaking easily. As it breaks, us being pushed more, soon even off. From the fall, from where I see I can witness us colliding with the water for a mere few seconds. An impact made, as a huge splash made as well. The car filling with the salt water, as my bodies lungs do as well. So much water my body is swallowing, as well as breathing it in. The cuts on my body, burning from the salt, pain formed in my head destroying the common thoughts. It washes the blood from my body, as my lungs fill quickly.

The car now hits the bottom of the ocean; my life is now fading away. Now my body, filled with the salt water. My lungs filled all the way, I crave for air to breathe. The eyes are slowly closing; my life is now faded away.

I awake, started and very confused of what has just happened. My car, no damage, looking like it always does. Simply pulling in and parking in the driveway. After witnessing the loss of so many lives, but ended up being nothing but a dream.

But why is this so sad to me?
