SEPIA TIMES

SEPIA TIMES

A Poem by WarriorElectric

I once belonged to a virgin forest
and the green snakes of infancy
They were hiding in a heart of a cheetah
that would rather die than kill to live

Foolish days, all painted in a haze
of love that was fleeting
I danced in a fire
and cried instead of escaping

I saw the universal rainbow,
but lost the keys of the timeless Wilderness
Since then my soul is made of sand,
carried by the warm ancient winds
In act.

Glad you liked it, love!
The opening verse and the line "sand/ carried by the warm ancient winds." are rich and evocative of something primordial yet intelligent. Very good.
