A poem exploring the friendship, love and romance

It must be said, so I will say it,

We know our friendship cannot be.
The wondrous dream,
They are but a fond memory.
We both knew this day WOULD COME!
Yea; we both care;
BUT I cannot, and will not, except you as a friend.
Don’t argue, don’t weep;
Fate, destiny, call it what you will.
Time changes all things,
It has changed us too.
Don’t deny it, don’t hide from it.
It was fun; it was a giggle, a trip in a time machine;
to a forgotten teenage past.
Listen up, one more thing.
Let me dry your eyes and make still your lips.
For I must tell you; I must, must tell you;
Your friendship paved the way for something brand new.
So, take my heart and dry your tears,
For I love you!
