Stole what was given

Stole what was given

A Poem by Molly

Electric you ignite me

Warned I can never be tamed

Fierce flickering flames

Your hands blistered in pain

Still never letting me be

Dizzy from the heat

I hoped this to never end, even though life isn’t so sweet

Dancing to the noises erupting from the street

I always wanted to be cavorting to another forever pounding beat

The city noisy enough to cover up your screams

You thought we were on the same team

Getting your way barely

I played the game love fairly

Cupid lent me the arrow

The ally inescapable from being too narrow

Running away it still pierced your chest

Leaving quite a mess

Your heart is my never-ending musically beat

Are you still happy that you asked if we could meet?

Yes, sometimes we may regret the first electric 'fierce flickering flames' and wonder later if we are still happy that we met!!! Well written.
