Impressions of the Heart

Impressions of the Heart

A Poem by Wanderlust

Conversations linger, impressions etched deeply,

Science debates and gods philosophically queried.

What is it to live, to truly be alive?

Nights bring pain, dark waves that deprive.

Yet, gratitude flows from the water’s serene gift,

Introspection stirs, through my soul it sifts.

A moral inventory, expression in diverse forms,

Struggling to stay kind amid life’s relentless storms.

A black kitten rests on sketches of human grace,

While Jhené Aiko’s hymns fill this contemplative space.

Coffee in hand, I await my therapeutic hour,

Gazing at the ocean, feeling its vast power.

A search within, a deep, earnest questioning,

Dissecting the mind, my own psyche testing.

Seeking the gears of human essence, craving control,

Understanding the machinery that composes my soul.

A deep, thoughtful look at consciousness here. Of course, there really is no control. You have to release it to approach your essence.
