A Poem by Riley

In a different form
All blotches of color
Some nights it was grey and white
Others it was bright red, purples,
and fiery oranges
One day I almost gave up
The one dream
I was on a building
I stared down for a while
I jumped
A bright red, purple, fiery orange
dream catcher caught me
Until now
I'm piecing together
what those dreams were.
I thought there might have been weed
on my pillow..
but with the dreams you've had of me...
since the dreamcatcher
since you.
Since seeing you in person for the first time
Since actually talking to you,
feeling like a crazed fan girl head over heels
with a guy that would never love her;
since listening to me and becoming my friend
my best friend
and my world.
My world is no longer
painted grey and black...
my world has become a Ying Yang, if anything.
More like a really beautiful poem
wonderfully pieced together.
Or a puzzle that reveals a pretty picture.
Either way. You're my happy ending.
I thank you.

Love the poem. I have a friend, a best friend that I've never met in person, who will never love me the way I'd like, but she is my best friend and maybe that's the way it is supposed to be. Regardless, your poem reminded me of her and I appreciate the emotions your poem stirred. Thank You.
