Zombies'N'S**t Ep. 62A Chapter by wagonburnerBlink and You'll Miss ItWhen you are told you are going to devolve into a primal, violent, mindless state, you are upset. When you are told that will happen soon, you are very upset. You don't truly know what it is like, but all you have ever known was the phantom emotions, like muscle memory. This subconscious reaction can only confuse you. I have never known anything else. Now, what I did know would soon become muddled and vague, eroding my sense of self. "I guess I never stood a chance." I looked around me with a sad smile. Everyone looked away, uncomfortable. I stood. I honestly thought I would feel terrible. Instead, a sort of calm had filled me. Peace. I also realized something else, "Carl, Kat, you feel things like the humans, don't you?" Kat spoke first, she knew what I meant, "Not the same, but yes, more than you. You have only ever felt things out of context, so to speak. Not knowing life before, you never could understand emotions properly. You tried, though." I waved a hand, "Well, now I think I do. I-" Something impacted my head. I turned slowly, looking at the chunky, messy spray hitting the area on the other side of my head. I blinked. "Huh." The crack of a gunshot reverberated outside. Oh, right! I slumped over out of sheer habit. I could see everyone else react. Sophia leapt to her feet and rushed to me. Kat and Carl frowned and began acting. Sophia shouted in my ear. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!! I whispered out of the corner of my mouth, "Hey! I appreciate your concern, but Normies with guns are here!" She sputtered and glanced back at the other two slowly slouching towards her. A door nearby was kicked open and like six people rushed in. Kat and Carl were soon bludgeoned to the floor. While we pretended to be dead, I heard a voice that made me twitch. "Sophia! Thank god we got here in time!" Sophia blurted, "MAX!?" I tried not to grind my teeth. I still had a dent in my head from Table Leg Max. "C'mon! That gunshot will draw others here, we need to get going-what are you doing?" Max trailed off as Sophia kicked my leg several times. I sighed, I knew her well enough to know she was going to keep trying to expose me. I sat up irritably. CLONK! "Jesus! I thought it was dead!" Someone sputtered. I lay on the ground, the well defined ridges (more familiar than I care to admit) of a table leg matching the fractures in my skull. At least I match, for once. Sophia swore at Max, "Stop that! John! Get up!" I heaved myself up once more. Then another bullet violently relocated 90% of what remained of my skull and brain matter. The force of the impact threw me back down. This time I swore violently and leapt up. Unfortunately, I was only able to see out of one eye. I turned in time to see someone lift a shotgun. MUTHERFU-
