Zombies'n'S**t Ep. 24A Chapter by wagonburnerMust've Been Wearing Axe
The great thing about falling two stories is, it gives you a lot of time to think.
Not really. More like: Not good, not-SPLAT Or in my case, "SSSSHHHHHIIIIIITTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" CRUNCH Luckily for Sophia, I landed first, so I broke her fall and my ribs. I leapt up and took off down an alley, home free. Until I heard a shout behind me, "WAIT!" What the hell? I glanced back. Sophia was chasing after me!? I didn't bother with pretending, I just ran as fast as my tubby a*s could go. Which turns out, isn't all that fast; she was gaining on me. I burst out the other side of the alley and hurtled across a street, woman in hot pursuit. I ran into another building and dove over a security desk. She was right behind me. Why is she so determined?! I slammed open the back door to the building and ran over to a bridge that spanned a canal with water rushing furiously beneath me. I set one foot on the bridge. And was immediately tackled by professional linebacker. Holy Hell, she may have been smaller than me, but it was like getting slammed by Prius going approximately 900 miles an hour. I'll give her this, she knew how to throw her weight around. I swear, she transformed into a semi at the last second. She knocked us both into the canal. I hit the water dazed and struggled to figure out which way was up. By the time I had surfaced and could get my bearings, we were swept away. I saw her gasping and choking nearby. Glad I didn't have to breathe. She seemed to really be having trouble with staying afloat. I grunted unhappily and swam over to help her out. I tried speaking to her, but she was too panicked, thrashing around. I tried grabbing her, but one of her hands b***h-slapped me in her terror. What the hell was this woman?! Wonder Woman? Christ, I was lucky she didn't knock my jaw clean off. I finally managed to grab her and yank her towards a ladder up the canal wall. She climbed it faster than I would have thought possible. I pulled my soggy a*s up after her. When I got street side, I plopped down flat on my back, breathing heavy from my own exertions. I know I don't need to breathe, but tell that to my disused muscles. They demanded oxygen, or something. I looked over when I heard retching. Sophia was on her hands and knees heaving on the asphalt. "What the hell is wrong with you?" I gasped. "Can't-" she choked out between dry-heaves, "swim. Don't like-water." She collapsed on the ground, shivering and making whimpering noises. What? "What?" I said, stupidly. I think she was crying. "Uhm," I started, lamely, "It's over now. You're fine." Man, she must really not like the water. © 2016 wagonburnerAuthor's Note
