81 Year Old Beliefs

81 Year Old Beliefs

A Poem by V.L.Mir
"

A poem dedicated to my granny

"

My Granny once said, whose minds incur

That knowledge on earth is bluff and blur.

They strip it of garments and faded with dree.

Listen to the knowledge she imparted to me.

“An eye for an eye”, my parents deny

None of this knowledge to their only child.

They sound a good reason of hatred and fear

“You don’t need to see, you don’t need to hear.”

Recession run down a good nation’s wealth;

“Look how they suffer! How they tremble and melt.

Therefore, my child, look at your plate.

Be grateful; be blessed for all that you ate.”

A black cat appeared in a blink of an eye.

She’ll toss all good fortune and painted them dry.

“Never again walk the path that she crossed

Or 10 years of misfortune will this journey cost.”

Look how they flutter, all their beauty caress

They coated my garden with black, blue and red.

Yet her face turns horrid as she holds down her breath.

“Butterflies of black are epitomes of death.”

O Granny, my Granny, I really love you so.

Your world holds more culture and brushes of snow.

So thank you for the wisdom; these shall be my key

Of the world you see and the memories with me.

Thank you, Granny…
