magnolia

A Poem by vydenmyria
"

named after the type of "spice" smoked before the writing of this

"

It’s always the same

Even when I was young,

I’d have something to say, but am cut short

By my own thoughts

So many contradictions to my own thoughts,

Is it so bad to see things more than one way?

In the long run, I bet its ok

But when it comes to a decisive definitive,

I’m a failure every time

Which brings me to the question

Of should I be, or should I think?

Should I be my primitive way

Or should I overthink everything,

To the point of no fun

Life is a game to be played

Not to be studied?

Or to be learned and conquered?

So many questions I ask myself

Yet, too few answers I’ll substain

a friend apologized for stuttering, for hesitating, for stammering through a conversation on Sunday morning; but I understood, we were so engaged, excited by the ideas that his mind was moving faster than his mouth could keep up with . . . it is an amazing thing to find ourselves so challenged. Contradicting thoughts can be a blessing; especially when we think on so many different levels, when we find ourselves so challenged that it is a race to keep up.

first, it is wonderful to see poetry from you, one of my first friends here at the Cafe. and Second, wow, do I relate to this. My own mind is my worst enemy when it comes to articulating how I feel. Wonderfully penned, Friend.
